Zambezi Cruise & Safaris is proud to announce that on the 15th of November 2019 the much anticipated Shashani Lodge opened its doors to the public. Shashani is a new property located in the Matobo Hills area, approximately 70 kilometres from the city of Bulawayo, just outside the National Park (along the western boundary).

Shashani sits on large granite rock dome giving sweeping views of the area, a beautiful private game reserve. The lodge comprises ten thatched chalets, all tastefully decorated. Each chalet has a private veranda, ensuite facilities, and spacious quarters ideal for relaxation.

The main lodge is an exquisite place housing the lounge, bar, and dining area. Here guests convene for meals, or simply to relax. There is a sparkling pool and a fire pit where guests can unwind after dinner. The main area is well placed and early risers can catch amazing sunrises.

Shashani offers the following activities; game viewing drives, bush walks, tours of the nearby ancient grain bins which were used by the natives who lived in the area hundreds of years ago, as well as rock paintings. There are a number of interesting heritage sites found within the national park guests can visit as well, these include the grave of Cecil John Rhodes, World’s View, Nswatugi Cave and so forth.
