Hivu Cottages

Vumba is located to the southeast of Mutare and is well known for its lush greenery, clean crisp mountain air, and amazing views from the circular drives down the valley and up the mountains which overlook neighbouring Mozambique. A place endowed with various plant and flower species such as proteas, orchids, and other indigenous tree species. 

Vumba offers various accommodation options which include the Hivu cottages.
Hivu offers 3 cottages of varying sizes, each one unique in style and appeal. Each cottage offers you spectacular views, a fully equipped kitchen (crockery, cutlery, gas stove, freezer) a geyser, and a diesel generator plus a complimentary full tank of fuel as alternatives during the power outages which are common during the rainy season from November through to March. They also have these additional facilities; fireplace, braai facilities,

Hunter’s Moon is 2 story home tucked away in a wooded lot that overlooks the Himalayas mountains. It sleeps eight people and boasts of a spacious lounge and separate dining room. It also has ablution facilities on both the upper and lower wing. Monagera is a homely cottage which can accommodate 6 people. It is in an elevated position which gives guests a gorgeous view of Zonwe valley and the river beneath. The bedrooms are light and airy while the lounge has a fireplace for the chilly nights.

Hycroft is a bungalow that has 7 bedrooms, 1 fully equipped kitchen, a large lounge, and 2 separate entrances.  It would be ideal for groups on a tight budget or backpackers. There is also a camping option. There is no wifi and no Television sets in the cottages but when it is wet guests can rest, read or play indoor games to pass the time.

Entrance fees are US$5 per person. Activities are priced from US$5. The adventure park can also accommodate small groups and school bookings are welcome. All guests are expected to sign the Hivu indemnity form and to pay a deposit for clubs, balls, and bats.
