Aberfoyle Lodge

Sitting on the Eastern Highlands Tea estate in the stunning Honde Valley is the beautiful Aberfoyle Lodge, surrounded by picturesque scenes of rolling plantations and lush forest. Aberfoyle is a self-sustaining eco-friendly resort that strives to give guests an unforgettable getaway as they relax and take in the spectacular scenery. 

The meals at Aberfoyle are made from the freshest ingredients more and more of which are sourced locally or grown in our own organic vegetable garden, a great place to spend some time on your visit.

The lodge has 15 rooms, guests can expect to see how the bird theme was incorporated throughout the lodge décor. Birding is a focal activity at the lodge and there is a resident expert who will take guests on a tour and even help identify specific species that are unique to these parts. Some special species that have been spotted include the Green–Backed Woodpecker, Paillard Honey Guide, and Marsh Tchagra.

Aside from the tour of the lodge, Aberfoyle offers a wide array of exciting activities. There is something for the young and old, from laid-back pastimes to full-scale sport and adventure. Spend the day exploring the area as you head out to Mermaid Pool and the local waterfall, guests can relax by the banks and enjoy a picnic lunch at this awesome setting. 

There are several hiking trails in the surrounding forest as well, those who are physically fit can go for nature walks or hiking. A knowledgeable guide will gladly answer questions and tell interesting tales about the history of the area as well as folklore about many of the nearby mountains and creeks which locals deem sacred. 

For sports enthusiasts, there is a choice of golf, a lovely 9hole course, and Putt-putt, and an all-weather Tennis Court. Those who are brave enough can enjoy a bird’s eye view of the forest over the river on the Tree Canopy Tour.
